GLOBE TELECOM CONDUCTED IMMERSION IN POOK MASAGANA
Wednesday, December 13, 2017
Globe Telecom, a telecommunications service provider in the Philippines, is also CFC ANCOP’s partner in helping the people. This month of giving, the telecom company transcended their way of serving through several days of immersion in CFC ANCOP 25th Ville Community in Pook Masagana, Quezon City.
The said activity was part of the annual event of Globe for the sales academy people engagement named “Project Wow”. The team conceptualized and planned for the possible outreach program to generate and implement it. Included in this program are: building the shelter, and tutorial for the children in the community; where these were described as an instrument for the goal of reaching to the people.
The first batch had their immersion last December 1, 2017, where they lend their hands in building additional homes in the community. On the other hand, the second batch conducted theirs during the Taguig City Day last December 8, 2017. Aside from building shelter, the second batch also had the chance to interact with the home partners and exchange stories with them.
Along the second batch of the volunteers in the said immersion is Mr. Joey Bernardo, the People Management Manager of Globe. He shared that the experience, though a short stint, is very meaningful for all of them. He added that it is fulfilling to share, even a small portion of time and efforts, to extend their selves to others.
Mr. Bernardo also conveyed that the experience will also help them as an individual, that they may able to do the same in their own communities and encourage them to do the same thing. He is also looking forward to creating more partnerships and programs with ANCOP to cultivate the volunteerism in them. He said, “I know sobrang short ng program, that’s the reason sana mas marami pa kaming ma create na programs like this, mas maraming partnership, dahil alam kong marami pang nangangailangan”. (I know it is a short program, that’s the reason why we hope to create more programs and partnership like this because I know there are more who are in need)
Lastly, he shared how they were inspired by the convivial smiles of the people upon entering the CFC ANCOP Community. He also imparted that in building a community, cooperation is a must, not just within but also outside; he said: “Ano lang e, tulungan lang, ganun lang siguro; the usual spirit of bayanihan, the usual spirit of cooperation. Believing, for us din, na kaya niyo to.” (It is about the support; the usual; spirit of bayanihan, the usual spirit of cooperation. Believing, for us too, that we can do this)
The Globe team will had the last part of the immersion on December 16, 2017, where they will conduct their culminating activity in a cornerstone school in Pook Masagana.
