MOA Signing With Don Bosco TVET

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

CFC ANCOP is joyous to fully embrace programs that will support the projects of government in building by producing individuals skilled for constructing structures for the country. With this, the foundation partnered with different organizations that cater Technical and Vocational courses such as Don Bosco TVET Center.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is viewed as a tool for productivity enhancement and poverty reduction in the country. Proper education and training are vital for the economic and social development.

In recognition of TVET’s significance, CFC ANCOP gears toward providing education that will hone skills and capabilities of those who are in the marginalized sectors through effusively catering the support for Technical and Vocational Education. CFC ANCOP establishing networks among institutions with TVET programs can create opportunities in aligning towards that direction.

Because of this, the partnership between Don Bosco Technical-Vocational Education Training (TVET) and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation Inc., was strengthened last January 26, 2018, at the Don Bosco TVET Center in Tondo, Manila during the Memorandum of Agreement Signing. Don Bosco TVET was represented by its rector, Rev. Fr. Gaudencio Carandang Jr., SDB, while CFC ANCOP was represented by its president, Bro. Rudy Gaspillo and the head of its Education Program, Bro Efren Tompong. The event was also graced by ANCOP Canada, led by its president, Bro. Ricky Cuenca. With him is his wife, Sis. Irma Cuenca and the ANCOP Canada Team. During the MOA Signing, Fr. Carandang expressed his excitement for  the partnership and was grateful to meet CFC ANCOP who shares the same path and vision with Don Bosco TVET.

The MOA Signing embodies the commitment of ANCOP Canada to increase the number of scholars to fifty (50) from the sixteen (16) existing scholars in the center. These existing scholars have experienced working at an early age before finally entering a TechVoc Education Training.

Some of the courses offered in Don Bosco TVET are Office System Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Automotive Service, Electrical Installations and Maintenance, and Refrigeration and Aircon Repairs and Maintenance.

One of the ANCOP scholars from Don Bosco TVET, John Henrich Malazarte, is thankful for both organizations for helping him achieve the education and scholarship. He promised to put his best in studying and intends to help by sponsoring a child too once he got a stable job in the future.

Fr. Carandang extended his thankfulness to ANCOP Canada for the sponsorship and he highlighted that the support can change the generations of poverty of families after the scholars have graduated and became employed.

Additionally, CFC ANCOP is journeying the path of catering parents to also undergo pieces of training through TechVoc education. The project, named TVETP (Technical and Vocational Education Training for Parents) is offered to the young parents of the ANCOP scholars, CFC and non-CFC members who age until 40 years old.

The event also coincided Sis. Irma’s birthday through a lunch with the sixteen ANCOP scholars. Sis. Irma, wife of ANCOP Canada’s President Bro. Ricky Cuenca, chose to humbly celebrate her day with the students to give her all-out support to TVET programs. The couple also encompassed their selves and extended their hands in achieving the objectives of the program.
