SMDC and CFC ANCOP Ink New Partnership

Two years after SM Foundation and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc. forged partnership in building 400 disaster-resilient homes for the super typhoon Yolanda survivors in Tacloban and barely a year after its completion and turnover in this new village now called Pope Francis CFC ANCOP Canada Community - SM Cares Village, the two organizations are back in the table in signing new partnership for the construction of another 200 houses in the province of Eastern Samar.
The Pope Francis Village in Kawayan, Tacloban City is the biggest housing project of the country’s biggest developer and is the third batch of the 1,000 houses committed by SM Foundation for Yolanda survivors.
SM Development Corporation (SMDC) and CFC ANCOP are now bringing a new housing project in Eastern Samar also intended for Yolanda survivors.
The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Jose Mari Banzon, Executive Vice President of SM Development Corporation; Jimmy Ilagan, Chairman of CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc.; Armenia Ballesteros of SMDC Business Planning and Development and Joe Tale, Chairman, Couples for Christ Global Mission Foundation, Inc. Present during the signing were Elena Horn of SM Cares and other representatives from both organizations. The MoA signing was held at the office of SMDC located at Two E-Com Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
Community development programs such as values formation, livelihood training and others will also be put in place to ensure the sustainability of the project and to make change work for all the homepartners in starting their new life in this new community.
