Vickar Family visits the ongoing ANCOP site in Baliuag, Bulacan
Thursday, November 15, 2018
The upcoming community in Baliuag, Bulacan will house several families who are currently experiencing poverty and were not given a chance to have their own shelter to live. They are mostly living in the government-owned land and were fearing to be ousted in the future.
These families are the ones CFC ANCOP will be helping with the generosity of the Vickar family who donated funds for building more than a hundred houses in Brgy. Piel, Baliuag, Bulacan.
Recently (January 22), Larry Vickar and his wife Tova Vickar together with their family visited the developing ANCOP Site in Brgy. Piel, Baliuag, Bulacan and was able to meet some of the beneficiaries. The said site will be accommodating one hundred and forty-five (145) houses and will be named Larry Tova Vickar CFC ANCOP Winnipeg Starville IV.
Vickar and his family were warmly welcomed first in the Municipality of Baliuag with its head person, Mayor Ferddie Estrella. The mayor of the said municipality thanked the family and CFC ANCOP for helping the poor families of Baliuag. Full of hope he said, “I believe that it is the continuing work of Jesus through CFC ANCOP”.
Larry Vickar also expressed his words of joy for being able to help those who are in need. He also conversed that his hopes are to make the world a little better someday.
Given the opportunity to see the ANCOP site for the first time, the Vickar family headed to Brgy. Piel, Baliuag, Bulacan to see the development of the area. The family was excited of what will be the outcome of the project and they were very happy to see how the community was being developed.
After the site visit, the Vickar family also created time to visit a nearby orphanage in the province, the Bethlehem House of Bread Orphanage. They were given a chance to meet children of different ages who were abandoned by their own families. They also shared gifts to the children of the orphanage and they were able to converse with the people supporting and working for the said orphanage.
The fire in the hearts of the walkers was blazing for this year’s ANCOP Global Walk 2018 on November 4, Sunday. Despite the change of schedule, people and organizations from different parts of Metro Manila still paved their way to take those steps and be part of the “One Nation that Walks Education,” carrying a heart that is ready to help out our poor brethren to have a chance at education.
After the success of the pilot roll-out of Mobile Training Center in Salcedo, Samar last September 17-21, the second batch of trainees were set to undergo another Technical and Vocational Education Training for Parents (TVET-P) on the Mobile Training Center (MTC) on November 20-24. This was made possible with the partnership of SM Development Corporation (SMDC) and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc. (CAGFI) and is being facilitated again by skilled trainers from Don Bosco ONE TVET Philippines.
