ANCOP USA TO MAKE OUR LADY OF BANNEUX ANCOP VILLAGE THE FIRST 100% SOLAR POWERED ANCOP SITE
Friday, July 26, 2019
ANCOP USA, a generous and dependable partner of CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc., through its various programs, made another valuable mark by responding to the call of Pope Francis to help save Mother Earth (Laudato si’). They agreed to finance the installation of a 3.24 kW OFF-GRID Solar PV System of the Our Lady of Banneux (OLB) ANCOP Multi-purpose Hall. Included also in the solar power provision are the street lighting and park facilities.
This makes OLB ANCOP Village the first CFC ANCOP site powered by 100% Solar Energy.
On July 12, 2019, CFC ANCOP President Rudy Gaspillo and Solar Energy Solutions, Inc. (SolarES) President Engr. Crisostomo Echavez signed the contract for the realization of the abovementioned project.
SolarES Chairman Ernesto Lumano comments, “We would like to especially thank the donor, ANCOP USA for making this project a reality for our brothers and sisters of OLB, that the dream of lighting up their MPH is now a reality.”
Present during the contract signing held at the CFC ANCOP head office is Efren Tompong, ANCOP Community Development Head; Ronaldo Caspe, TVET Coordinator; and Yna Briones, Shelter Coordinator, and Ernesto Lumano from SolarES.
SolarES is an inherent partner of Couples for Christ (CFC) in answering the cry of the poor. In fact, all its 7 founding members are leaders of CFC. They are engaged in the business of supply and installation of renewable energy to residential and commercial establishments within the Philippines. They advocate cleaner air and lesser carbon emission and help create opportunities for livelihood to the needy through job generation.
With the success of this partnership, there is no doubt that other ANCOP sites will follow the model of OLB for renewable and green energy utilization. - RMM/CFC Ancop Communications
A HUNDRED individuals taking temporary refuge at the Ibaan, Batangas Evacuation Center, after being displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption, signed up for the TVET Training to Employment program, a venture sponsored by CFC ANCOP in partnership with DMCI, the Archdiocese of Lipa and Couples for Christ.
On January 12, just as everyone was still on the height of celebrating the start of a new decade, 2020 brought us one of its surprises no one expected—the Taal Volcano eruption. On its first day of volcanic activity, it spewed tons of ashes that greatly affected Batangas, and has reached nearby provinces and even parts of Metro Manila. This caused a lot of damage to the homes and livelihood of the residents, displacing thousands of them to different evacuation centers all over Batangas province.
