BLESSING OF INITIAL HOUSES BUILT AT ANCOP ROMBLON SITE
Friday, June 07, 2019
Thirty initial houses built for RDSAC CFC ANCOP Canada Community were blessed last May 1, 2019 by no less than Bishop Narciso Abellana of the Diocese of Romblon at Brgy. Lunas, Romblon, Romblon. Partner donor representatives including Atty. Budoy Madrona and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc. (CAGFI) Community Development Head, Ric dela Rosa was present during the ceremony.
Also present during the occasion were Romblon Mayor Anoy Mateo, Vice Mayor Macmac Silverio, former Mayor Gard Montojo, Brgy. Lunas Captain Neil Andrew Mojado, Rev. Fr. Ric Magro, Rev. Fr. Gilbert Saminado, Barangay and Municipal Council members as well as home partners with their families.
As the major donor of the project, Atty. Budoy Madrona committed to making concrete all the main roads of the community to assure its safety and accessibility. Furthermore, Mayor Mateo pledged to finance the community’s water system, while the Department of Public Works and Highways approved a Php50 million budget for the riprapping of the mountainside as landslide protection of the site.
The construction of the houses started in January 2019 while the prospect home partners have finished their Christian Life Program just this April.
Everyone involved in this endeavor is excited to see the completion of these projects, which will undoubtedly make a big difference in the lives of the beneficiaries who are now considered brothers and sisters in the CFC Family. —PMB, ANCOP Communications
A HUNDRED individuals taking temporary refuge at the Ibaan, Batangas Evacuation Center, after being displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption, signed up for the TVET Training to Employment program, a venture sponsored by CFC ANCOP in partnership with DMCI, the Archdiocese of Lipa and Couples for Christ.
On January 12, just as everyone was still on the height of celebrating the start of a new decade, 2020 brought us one of its surprises no one expected—the Taal Volcano eruption. On its first day of volcanic activity, it spewed tons of ashes that greatly affected Batangas, and has reached nearby provinces and even parts of Metro Manila. This caused a lot of damage to the homes and livelihood of the residents, displacing thousands of them to different evacuation centers all over Batangas province.
