CFC ANCOP HELD ANNUAL ANCOP-SOCDEV MEETING FOR 2019
Monday, January 21, 2019
2018 was a victorious year for CFC ANCOP, that’s why hopes are high for another year to give their best to fulfill its mission of “answering the cry of the poor”. On January 15, CFC ANCOP embarked 2019 with its yearly ANCOP & Social Development Meeting to update its stakeholders from Couples for Christ (CFC) of the milestones, innovations, and challenges of different ANCOP Programs and Departments, namely Educational Sponsorship Program (ESP), Community Development Program (CDP), Events and Communication, Finance Department, and Quality Assurance Department, as well as CFC Social Development (SocDev).
The meeting was opened by Bro. Rudy Gaspillo, CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc. (CAGFI) President, by welcoming the participants from different sectors, provinces and countries. Bro. Mon de Leon of CFC SocDev then presented updates and encouraged everyone to support its programs, namely Migrants Program, Oikos, Order of St. Michael, Isaiah 61:1, STMA, GKare, and Coops for Christ Federation. It was then followed by ESP Program Head Bro. Efren Tompong, wherein he proudly presented the huge increase in the numbers of ANCOP Scholars for the past eight years, and how ANCOP Global Walk is sustaining more students now. He also presented milestones such as the success of Mobile Training Center (MTC) piloted in September 2018 at Salcedo, Eastern Samar. ANCOP’s CDP also presented a great improvement with its Shelter, Livelihood and Health Programs. In 2018, the number of ANCOP sites had increased to 47, and there are more in the process of approval. CDP surely improved not just in providing shelters, but also in livelihood and health program which are continuously improving with a Research and Development team handling feasibility studies for possible initiatives.
One of the improvements that CFC ANCOP has been pulling-off their attempt to get an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification, which will now proceed to its final stage on January 28-29, after passing the first stage in December 2018. Once the certification has been granted, CFC ANCOP would be more credible with its definite processes and requirements, as well as an international quality recognition. This would become a gateway for more donors resulting in better services for its stakeholders.
CFC ANCOP is unceasingly seeking more improvements to do greater things for the glory of God. Its Vision of “Families in the Holy Spirit sharing Christ’s transforming love with the poor” will always prevail in fulfilling the mission. All of these definitely became tangible because of the support of all its stakeholders, mainly the CFC Community, in partaking in sustaining the work with the poor. (CFC ANCOP Communications /pmb)
A HUNDRED individuals taking temporary refuge at the Ibaan, Batangas Evacuation Center, after being displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption, signed up for the TVET Training to Employment program, a venture sponsored by CFC ANCOP in partnership with DMCI, the Archdiocese of Lipa and Couples for Christ.
On January 12, just as everyone was still on the height of celebrating the start of a new decade, 2020 brought us one of its surprises no one expected—the Taal Volcano eruption. On its first day of volcanic activity, it spewed tons of ashes that greatly affected Batangas, and has reached nearby provinces and even parts of Metro Manila. This caused a lot of damage to the homes and livelihood of the residents, displacing thousands of them to different evacuation centers all over Batangas province.
