CFC Singapore Joins ANCOP Global Walk
Wednesday, September 13, 2017
On the morning of May 25th 2014, almost a hundred CFC Singapore members along with their families and friends joined the rest of the world in the annual ANCOP Global Walk. With the goal of supporting over 50 marginalised children in the Philippines in its Child Sponsorship Program (CSP), this 2.5km walk stretched from the Marang Trail in Harbourfront to the Henderson Waves in Henderson Road. What seemed to be an uneventful walk was made to be quite exciting as the organisers grouped the participants and asked them to complete a series of tasks in each so called “pit stop” Amazing Race-style:
A – Take a group selfie and send to the ANCOP team
N – Do the unity step after completing the Marang Trail
C – Comedy stop to prepare something fun (e.g. knock knock jokes, pick-up lines)
O – Do the group wave at Henderson Waves
P – Do the flash mob with the Creatives group
The morning concluded with a group photo with the participants.
Indeed, spending the Sunday morning with the rest of the community has never been this fun and fulfilling knowing that each step aids in the education of underprivileged children.
Till the next ANCOP Global Walk! ( http://bit.ly/agwsingapore )
Jobless. Abroad. Alone and lonely. This was what life was like for many members of Couples for Christ (CFC) Netherlands during the first months of the COVID-19 crisis. The reality of people in need inspired CFC Country Heads Mel and Daday de Leon, together with ANCOP Heads Medel and Milen Aviles, to start the “Tulong Kapatid” program, which provided relief through door-to-door delivery of care packages as well as financial assistance to the most affected CFC members.
MANILA, Philippines — Rain or shine, on lockdown or not, we’re walking for our scholars! For the first time ever, the ANCOP Global Walk (AGW) goes virtual and will target 5 billion steps over three months to help send underprivileged students and seminarians to school. This year, the AGW will also benefit ANCOP’s calamity services, which most recently have been assisting sectors most affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
