New ANCOP Board Elected Amid ‘Legacy Building’

QUEZON City – As the work and mission of CFC Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) Foundation continues to grow locally and abroad, a new ANCOP board of trustees was elected on August 13 during the annual ANCOP General Membership meeting at the CFC Global Mission Center.  

With the guidance of the CFC International Council, the following were elected to the role of setting the direction for several major Work with the Poor programs under ANCOP: 

  • George Campos 
  • Leo Labrador 
  • Norman Robles 
  • Manuel Cañete 
  • Tony Dela Cruz 
  • Jojo Solis 
  • Bong Bautista 
  • Arnel Sacris 
  • Romy Alfaro 

New officers 

During the first official meeting of the board immediately after election, the officers elected George Campos as ANCOP Chairman; Leo Labrador as President; Arnie Macapagal as Treasurer; Boyet Rafael as Executive Director; and Art Valdellon as Corporate Secretary.  

In his message, CFC Chairman Arnel Santos noted how the direction and mode for CFC seems to be geared towards “legacy building,” which ANCOP is very much a part of.

Some 77 attended the annual ANCOP General Membership meeting on August 13, 2025, at the CFC Global Mission Foundation Center, Quezon City.

“When we think about legacy, it might be buildings, but it’s really about building transformed lives,” he explained.  

Milestones in serving the poor 

With 77 ANCOP stakeholders in attendance, both in person and online, outgoing ANCOP Chairman Rudy Gaspillo reported on ANCOP’s key accomplishments since last year.

Some of the milestones mentioned included the following: 

  • Php 99, 253, 365 ANCOP Global Walk (AGW) 2024 remittance;  
  • 10,403 total active sponsored students for school year 2024 – 2025;  
  • building of the first ever CFC ANCOP Technical and Vocational Training Center (CATTC) in Bataan, which was generously funded by CFC UAE;  
  • introduction of school partners and institutional partners for the Educational Sponsorship Program (ESP), making monitoring and submission of requirements easier; 
  • 2, 2265 patients served during the WOW mobile clinic’s 14 deployments since February 2025; 
  • 8 religious sisters sponsored under ESP, which has never been done before; 
  • Debit/credit card terminal that makes ANCOP donations easier 

The ‘why’ of ANCOP 

The event was also an opportunity to honor the groundbreaking work of Rudy Gaspillo who spearheaded many of the innovations and trailblazing initiatives of ANCOP during his term.  

“I want to praise and thank the Lord for the gift of ANCOP and for the gift of Bro. Rudy Gaspillo,” CFC Chairman Arnel Santos also said in his message. 

In turn, Rudy Gaspillo stressed the deeper why behind the community’s Work with the Poor. He explained, “ANCOP is the faith in action… We are doing this because we want to show the Lord that we love Him by answering the cry of those in need.”
