W.O.W. CLINIC +

Wellness and Outpatient Services on Wheels (W.O.W.) Clinic plus  TB and Cardiac diseases awareness building and training for the community

THE PROBLEM

Cardiac diseases are the leading cause of mortality among Filipinos, accounting for 18.5% of all documented deaths related to non-communicable diseases. Meanwhile, tuberculosis (TB) continues to pose a significant threat as a major cause of death attributed to communicable diseases in the Philippines. The country has the unenviable distinction of having the highest TB rate in Asia, affecting 554 of every 100,000 Filipinos.

THE SOLUTION

Many factors like physical health, mental well-being, and nutrition can contribute to the prevalence of these diseases. However, many cases remain undetected and untreated, particularly in underserved communities with limited access to basic healthcare and numerous challenges.

This project aims to deliver high-quality healthcare services to remote and underserved communities. Our primary objective is to provide affordable and easily accessible health assessments, screenings, and treatments, particularly addressing cardiac diseases and TB.

Additionally, our efforts encompass community awareness campaigns, promotion of healthcare practices, and healthcare workers’ training on Cardiac First Responder Skills and TB patient monitoring.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, our W.O.W Clinic features X-ray and ECG machines for early detection and proactive prevention. In this way, we are dedicated to delivering essential healthcare services to those most in need.

KEEPING CHILDREN HEALTHY

We recognize that the early years 0-4 are formative physical developmental years. WOW Clinic provides TB screening for children according to symptoms and exposure. Height and weight measurements are given to children at least three years old. Pediatric medical consultation and children’s vitamins and meds are available upon request. Dental extraction and minor surgeries like circumcision are also available for children at least three (3) years old.

Main Health Services:

Ancillary Services

Health Risk Assessment (Blood Sugar Test, Cholesterol Test, Uric Test, Urine Dipstick Test)

Medical Consultation
Pharmacy

Dental Extraction

Minor Operation (Circumcision, Removal of Cyst and Suturing of Laceration)

REQUESTING THE MOBILE CLINIC

  1. Your community should be in the Luzon area.
  2. A thorough community preparedness, which includes training for health care workers, must be done. Therefore, submit your request at least 2 months before the target schedule for the medical outreach. Requests received shorter than 2 months are not guaranteed to be fulfilled.
  3. Up to 250 patients can be examined in a day.
  4. Pay a minimum of P22K covering TB and cardiac disease screening, medical consultations, community health volunteer training on basic life support (basic BLS-CPR), vital signs taking, basic first aid and TB patient monitoring skills, and the day’s consumables and gas consumption. There are additional costs for the other medical services and additional days of deployment.
