MANDALUYONG City – The German composer Albert Schumman once said: “To send light into the darkness of men’s hearts – such is the duty of the artist.”
And that is exactly what happened when the Katha Art Group decided to donate part of the proceeds of their most recent art exhibit to CFC ANCOP Global Foundation, Inc.
“It was our privilege to designate ANCOP as one of the beneficiaries of the exhibit.
Through this modest contribution, we hope to support the meaningful work ANCOP continues to undertake in uplifting the lives of underprivileged families and communities,” reads a letter the group of artists sent to CFC ANCOP, together with their Php 40,000 donation.
Having been a member of Couples for Christ since May 1986, Vida Doria – Legaspi, a member of Katha, said she introduced her fellow artists to CFC ANCOP and its advocacy of providing educational sponsorships.
“I believe that the donation can help in sending kids and young adults to school. May the good Lord guide them in their pursuit [of] education and for them to be channels of blessings to others in the future,” she added.
The Katha Art Group, comprised of female visual artists Grace Aranda, Rellie Liwag, Clarita Magat, Salie Naguiat, and Bebet Sto. Tomas, held their “Tapestry of Woven Dreams” art exhibit, at the Podium from May 22 to May 28, 2026.
Legaspi shared her hopes that the said initiative will not be the last.
“This is the first time our group has supported ANCOP. I hope we can do it again, with God’s help,” she added.
