MAKATI City – CFC ANCOP welcomes the honor of having sponsored a TVET student who was recognized as batch 104’s Gold Excellence Awardee by Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) – Makati on June 6.

“This course became my second chance to rediscover myself and pursue a career that I can genuinely love and grow in. Soon, hiling ko makapagtrabaho agad dito sa Pinas (Soon, my dream is to work right away here in the Philippines) and someday, I also dream of working abroad and achieving goals I once thought were impossible,” shared Hans Tristan Villabroza during the acceptance speech he gave during his TVET batch graduation at DBTI – Makati.

Villabroza, who was recognized for his outstanding performance during his 12-month fitter machinist training, is a marketing graduate who has found his life’s calling in the technical vocational field.

“Nagtrabaho ako agad after ko grumaduate at sinubukang buuin ang career ko, pero iba ang ihip ng tadhana sa akin, hindi ko na makita kung paano ma-execute ang plano ko, hind sa naglaho kundi parang lumabo – at na-realize ko hindi ko nakikita sarili ko mag-grow dito (I worked right away after graduation and tried to map out my career, but life had other plans for me. I found myself no longer able to see how my own plans would unfold. It wasn’t that my dreams had vanished—they had simply become unclear. That’s when I realized I could no longer picture myself growing in that career),” he added.

Even after completing a 4-year college course, which is expected for many young Filipinos his age, Villabroza was looking for something different.

People would tell him, “Sayang naman yung course mo (You’re wasting your degree).”

But he persisted looking for a different path.

“Natutunan ko na walang experience ang nasasayang. (I learned that no experience is wasted.) Every failure and challenge teach us something valuable,” he explained.

The 26-year old, who lives with his 3 siblings and widowed mother in Montalban, Rizal, thanked his CFC ANCOP family and his sponsor, Cross Catholic Outreach, saying: “ANCOP, thank you very much for providing financial assistance to students who struggle to support their studies. I am one of the many students who benefited greatly from your generosity. Maraming-maraming salamat po (Thank you so much) for helping us continue our education and pursue our dreams.”
