Soon, Jaime Vito’s life will totally change. Awaiting his visa for UAE, he’s counting the days till he starts working in the UAE.
“Masaya po ako nung ‘pag graduate ko sa TVET kasi madami akong natutunan sa pag welding at makakapag-trabaho na ako (I’m happy to have graduated from TVET because I was able to learn a lot about welding and I’ll be able to work now),” Jaime shared in an interview.
Gratitude for opportunities
The 22-year-old, who hails from Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, admits the thought of being far from his family already gets him feeling lonely.
“Ako po ay single at nararamdaman ko po ay malungkot kasi malayo ako sa mga family ko. Ang habilin ko po sa family ko dapat support lang sila sa akin kahit malayo ako kasi para naman sa kanila kung bakit ako mag a-abroad (I’m single and I feel sad because I’ll be far from my family. My only request to my family is that they just keep on supporting me despite the distance since they’re the reason I’m going abroad),” he explained.

Jaime joined a CFC ANCOP-sponsored TVET training in Hinigaran with trainers from Don Bosco Makati in March 2023.
Talking to Jaime, his gratitude for the opportunity of upskilling is obvious.
Divine Providence at work
Almost immediately, he was able to find work as a FCAW welder at Tsuneishi Heavy Industries in Cebu at the recommendation of TVET Don Bosco Balamban Technical Director Fr. Brian Butanas, SDB.
While working, Jaime also applied for jobs abroad, trying for both Romania and Lithuania in Eastern Europe.
His applications were declined because he did not meet the minimum age requirements.
Divine Providence finally smiled at him when he found an opening with Arabian Steel, a wholesale manufacturing company whose main headquarters are in the Ain Sokhna region of Egypt.
Jaime formally lodged his application with them as a welder based in UAE on December 1, 2024.
“…Nagpapasalamat po ako sa ANCOP at sa Don Bosco kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanila, hindi ako makakapag-trabaho at makapag-abroad (I’m thankful to ANCOP and to Don Bosco because if not for them, I would not be able to find a job and to go abroad),” added Jaime.
