For ANCOP alumna Regine Lopez, passing the 2026 Social Workers Licensure Examination was already an answered prayer. Ranking 10th among the country’s successful examinees made the achievement even more meaningful—and reminded her of the people who helped her reach it.
Still on cloud nine after her recent 10th place ranking in the Social Work Licensure Examination, Regine revealed that her CFC ANCOP sponsors have always been an “anchor” in her journey.
“It humbles me every time po to know na isa akong ANCOP scholar. It melts my heart to know na sinusuportahan ako ng isang sponsor na hindi naman ako personally kilala, parang somehow naging anchor ko po siya,” she said. (It humbles me every time to know that I’m an ANCOP scholar. It melts my heart to know that I was supported by a sponsor who didn’t even personally know me. Somehow, ANCOP became my anchor.)
From ANCOP-sponsored Student to 10th Placer
A graduate of the University of Mindanao, Regine earned a 91.40% rating in the Social Workers Licensure Examination, placing 10th among the successful examinees.
Some 10,991 examinees took the September 2026 Social Work Licensure Exam, administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), with 8,383 successfully passing the examination.
For CFC ANCOP Education Group Head Vida Cuares, Regine’s achievement is also a milestone for the organization.
“This achievement shows that ANCOP’s programs have helped produce quality and deserving graduates. It is a testament to the quality of support and service we provide to our students and our commitment to helping them achieve their full potential,” Cuares said in an interview.
‘It Inspired Me to Become a Blessing to Others’
Regine said she was especially touched by the generosity of her New Zealand-based donors.
“I was deeply moved by how generous and compassionate they were in helping others. It inspired me to become a blessing to others as well,” she said.
For Regine, the support she received was about more than financial assistance. It gave her the opportunity to pursue her education and reminded her that people she had never met believed in her potential.
That support became especially meaningful because Regine already knew about ANCOP before becoming one of its scholars.
From Youth for Christ to ANCOP Scholar
Before becoming an ANCOP-sponsored student, Regine was already a member of CFC Youth for Christ (YFC).
She recalls first supporting CFC ANCOP through the foundation’s annual ANCOP Global Walks, where she heard testimonies from successful ANCOP scholars and learned more about its mission.
“Alam ko na po before ang purpose ng ANCOP. Back then, I only joined Global Walks as a YFC and heard different testimonies from successful scholars,” she recalled.
Still, when she eventually applied to become an ANCOP-sponsored student, she did not expect to be accepted.
“Hindi ko na po talaga in-expect na matatanggap ako kasi sa dami ba naman po ang nangangailangan rin. Sabi ko na lang po, if hindi man ako makuha, siguro mas may deserving kaysa sa akin.” (I honestly didn’t expect to be accepted because I knew there were so many others who needed help, too. I just told myself that if I wasn’t chosen, perhaps there was someone who needed it more than I did.)
Years later, that opportunity has helped lead Regine to one of the biggest breakthroughs of her academic journey: becoming a Social Work Licensure Exam topnotcher.
The support she received has become more than an anchor. It has become an inspiration—to succeed, to serve, and eventually, to become a blessing to others.
From an ANCOP alumna to a future social worker, Regine’s story shows how one opportunity can help a young person move closer to her dreams—and inspire her to help others do the same.
