“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer”
Mt. 21:22
Ailgen Perfecto wakes up early in the morning to arrive at school on time. She is now on her third year in college taking Bachelor of Technology Major in Hotel and Restaurant Management, a ladderized Education program at the University of Rizal System. She has two younger siblings and they are being solely supported by their father who works as a construction worker. Her mother, a housewife shared that it is hard for them to sustain their daily needs and finances.
When they’ve heard about the Child Sponsorship Program of CFC ANCOP, they immediately inquired about it. They submitted Ailgen’s profile and other necessary documents needed for the scholarship they have been praying for a long time.
(We really prayed for it…We really need it because only one earns in the family)
She added that it is a struggle for them because Ailgen’s needs in college were more compared before. Also, they are supporting their younger child in grade nine who also has educational needs.
DRIVE TO REACH HER DREAMS
Ailgen shared that she dreams to manage a restaurant. She works hard for it through giving importance to her education. She finds it as the avenue to help her family in the future.
(My priority is to finish my studies first. After that, I want to apply what I’ve learned to my work in order for me to provide my family a better life)
She is motivated to pursue these because of her faith in the Lord whom she was grateful to for not leaving them even there are lots of challenges along their way. Her family also gives her the drive for, as what she recalled, never gave up on their education despite the poverty.
The 18-year-old Youth For Christ member is also inspired to do more because of her scholarship in ANCOP. It is important for me because it motivates me in my studies. My parents are not that worried for my expenses in school).
Ailgen also expressed her thankfulness to her sponsor from ANCOP Israel. She exclaimed that she is happy because, despite a big number of those who hope for a scholarship, she was granted to have one.
